Back to the Desert

Still heading East.  Mountains ahead on US 50

I go through some mountains.

Desert ahead.  Hours of it.

I get bored and start taking lots of pictures like this and out the window.

More mountains ahead...

Aaaaahhhh...and then the canyonlands....

The sun begins setting and I still have hours...

I miss the red rocks.

Very happy to spend a night in the desert.  My good friend Mandy happens to be in Chile.  I talked to my friend Tricia on the phone - she was helping her daughter with homework.  It is a weekday after all.  I can't expect everyone to party with me on tour.  I did spend some lovely time with my ex, Ed, who declined to be photographed.  I wrote two songs about Ed:  one a breakup song (We Tried)  and one describing the process of becoming friends again (In This Moment).  

Also spent some time with Ed's dog, Leo.  His chicken I was fond of, Bob, no longer lives, but some young relatives of Bob were cute!  You gotta watch out for the coyotes out here when you are a chicken!!
